Black Crow AI - Yotpo SMS & Email Integration

Use Cases:

1. Predictive Offer: Use Black Crow's technology to present a secondary pop-up at the optimal time during your customer's journey to boost opt-in rates and revenue linked to Welcome flows.

2. Smart ID: Boost your incremental revenue by triggering more abandoned series events. This technology enables you to identify more previously unrecognized website visitors.

3. Predictive Repurchase: Increase customer lifetime value by getting more of your customers to buy again using Black Crow’s technology to determine the best time to send each customer a repurchase message and the best products to recommend to each customer.

Sharing Yotpo SMS & Email access with Black Crow

  1. Access your Yotpo SMS & Email Dashboard:
    1. Click on the profile icon in the top right corner. Then, click on Account Settings. This will open a new Yotpo tab.

  1. Add Teammate:
    1. On the new Yotpo tab, click on Teammates and then on the "Add Teammates" button. 
    2. Please provide Staff or higher-level access to both analytics@blackcrow.ai and analytics+YOUR_DOMAIN_NAME@blackcrow.ai (see example below)
      1. Example: myawesomeshop.com → analytics+myawesomeshop@blackcrow.ai

  1. Let your Black Crow CSM know that you have shared access.
    1. Black Crow will handle the integration and create the Yotpo flows and campaign automation. Once that is finished, you can use Black Crow's Predictive Offer, Smart ID, and Predictive Repurchase features within your Yotpo account.

Smart ID - Flow Creation Steps:

After you have shared access with Black Crow AI and requested your Black Crow AI CSM to integrate Smart-ID, please follow the steps below to create automation flows that message incremental users that aren’t captured by your existing abandonment flows.

Before these steps are done, you must:

  1. Have Black Crow AI’s Shopify app installed: https://apps.shopify.com/blackcrow
  2. Provided Black Crow AI access to your Yotpo SMS & Email account
  3. Requested Black Crow AI to integrate Smart ID Yotpo

Black Crow’s Automation Flows setup steps:

General Steps

  1. Login to Yotpo SMS & Email
  2. Navigate to “Settings” → “General Settings” → “Compliance” and make sure the brand has the Smart Sending period set to at least 8 hours.

  1. Then, navigate to “Flows” → “My Flows”. Search for the abandonment flows. 

Browse Abandonment

Update the existing Browse Abandonment flow:

  1. Open the existing Browse Abandonment flow and make sure to add the following conditions before the actions (SMS or email):
    1. Made order after flow started is false, or
    2. Started a checkout after flow started is false, or 
    3. Check if shopper has added to cart after flow started is false

  1. If the existing flow has one or more emails, save them as template (we will use later on when creating the Black Crow version of the Browse Abandonment flow)
    1. To save the email as a template, click on the action block (the email block) and then on the “Edit design” button)

  1. On the top, click on “Templates” and then on “Save template”

  1. Name it “Browse 1” (if it is the first email in the flow) and hit save. If the flow has more emails, repeat the process and name it Browse 2, Browse 3, etc...
  2. Click on the “Back to flow” button on the top right corner to be redirected to the flow.

  1. Click on “Save” in the top right corner to save the edits made to the flow

 

Create the Black Crow AI Browse Abandonment flow:

  1. On another tab, click on the “My Flows” tab, and then on “Create flow” in the top right corner. We suggest having the existing Browse Abandonment flow we just edited open on another tab for a side-to-side comparison. 
  2. Name the new flow “Black Crow Smart ID - Abandoned Browse”
  3. For the new flow, set as the trigger the Blackcrow trigger custom event: “Viewed Product Blackcrow”. Set the Default Trigger Options with the same settings as the existing flow.

 

  1. Set delay time to be the delay time present on the existing Browse Abandonment flow + 1 hour.

  1. Add conditions:
    1. Made order after flow started is false, or
    2. Started a checkout after flow started is false, or
    3. Check if shopper has added to cart after flow started is false

  1. Copy/clone the action blocks (SMS & emails). We want the Black Crow SMS & Emails to look the same as the equivalent Yotpo flow. We will just need to edit product data from emails/SMS so it is using product data from the Black Crow custom event.
    1. For SMS:
      1. Product data from Black Crow’s custom event will be under the section “Codes”:

  1. For email:
    1. Click on the Email Message for the action block, then click on the “Edit Design” button.

  1. Click on “Templates” → “Change template”

  1. Under “My Templates”, select the template you have saved previously. Then click on “Change and reset”.

  1. Edit the email to include product data from the Black Crow custom event. In the example below, we are changing the product name field to grab that product data from the Black Crow event by clicking on the {..} icon and selecting the product name within the “Event” section:

  1. Change the Sender Details and the Email Subject to match what we have in the existing Browse Abandonment flow.

  1. Click on “Save” to save your new flow and set it live.

Cart Abandonment

Update the existing Cart Abandonment flow:

  1. Open the existing Cart Abandonment flow and make sure to add the following conditions before the actions (SMS or email):
  1. Made order after flow started is false, or
  2. Started a checkout after flow started is false

2. If the existing flow has one or more emails, save them as templates (we will use later on when creating the Black Crow version of the Cart Abandonment flow)

  1. Click on “Save” the top right corner to save the edits made to the flow.

 

Create the Black Crow AI Cart Abandonment flow:

  1. On the “My Flows” tab, click on “Create flow” in the top right corner. We will clone the existing Abandonment flow, but we will change its trigger to be one of the Black Crow’s custom events. 
  2. Name the new flow “Black Crow Smart ID - Abandoned Cart”
  3. For the new flow, set as the trigger the custom event: “Add To Cart Blackcrow”. Set the Default Trigger Options with the same settings as the existing flow.
  4. Set delay time to be the delay time present on the existing Cart Abandonment flow + 1 hour.
  5. Add conditions:
    1. Made order after flow started is false, or
    2. Started a checkout after flow started is false

  1. Copy/clone the action blocks (SMS & emails). We want the Black Crow SMS & Emails to look the same as the equivalent Yotpo flow. We will just need to edit product data from emails/SMS so it is using product data from the Black Crow custom event.
    1. For emails, use the saved templates of the existing Cart Abandonment flow.
  2. Set the new flow live.

Checkout Abandonment

Update the existing Checkout Abandonment flow:

  1. Open the existing Checkout Abandonment flow and make sure to add the following conditions before the actions (SMS or email):
    1. Made order after flow started is false

 

  1. If the existing flow has one or more emails, save them as template (we will use later on when creating the Black Crow version of the Checkout Abandonment flow).
  2. Click on “Save” the top right corner to save the edits made to the flow.

 

Create the Black Crow AI Checkout Abandonment flow:

  1. On the “My Flows” tab, click on “Create flow” in the top right corner. We will clone the existing Abandonment flow, but we will change its trigger to be one of the Black Crow’s custom events. 
  2. Name the new flow “Black Crow Smart ID - Abandoned Checkout”
  3. For the new flow, set as the trigger the custom event: “Initiate Checkout Blackcrow”. Set the Default Trigger Options with the same settings as the existing flow.
  4. Set delay time to be the delay time present on the existing Checkout Abandonment flow + 1 hour.
  5. Add conditions before any action:
    1. Made order after flow started is false

  1. Copy/clone the action blocks (SMS & emails). We want the Black Crow SMS & Emails to look the same as the equivalent Yotpo flow. We will just need to edit product data from emails/SMS so it is using product data from the Black Crow custom event.
  2. Set the new flow live.

 

Predictive Repurchase Flow Creation Steps

Predictive Cross Sell

This flow will be automatically created from an available Black Crow integration template.

Possible updates required based on your preferences:

  1. If you only want to use it for email and not SMS, please delete the SMS messages from the flow.
  2. If you only want to use it for SMS and not email, please delete the email messages from the flow.
  3. If you don’t want to offer any incentive, please delete the discount code from any messages where it appears and update message wording accordingly so it doesn’t imply the user is receiving a discount.
  4. If you do want to offer an incentive, please ensure the discount code used is for the amount you want to offer.
  5. Please feel free to update any copy or style to match your brand voice if you prefer or you can decide to go live with the default copy.
  6. Set the flow live when ready.

Predictive Offer (PO) - Yotpo Form and Yotpo Flow Creation Steps:

Form

  1. Log into Yotpo
  2. Go to `Audiences`, then `Subscriber Collection Tools`
  3. Duplicate the existing form

  1. Add “- Black Crow” to the form name, on the top left side of the screen
  2. Look for `Behavior`, then click `Configure`:
    1. Behavior will be at the left menu bar, either at the top or at the bottom of it

  1. Enable the `Delay`:
    1. Show after specified time
    2. Put a big number, like 99999999999

 

  1. Scroll down to `Advanced Conditions`
    1. Add condition
    2. Add `Click based`
    3. Select `Id`
    4. Complete with `bcai_formId` - get the formId from the URL
    5. Save

 

  1. Save changes and exit

Note:

Some brands might have Klaviyo powering their popup, while using Yotpo to send their SMS flows. For those brands, the steps will be needed to connect the Klaviyo form to Yotpo SMS & Email by following these instructions here.

 

Welcome Flow

  1. Go to `Flows`
  2. Duplicate the existing Welcome Flow

  1. Edit the cloned Flow
  1. You can add a conditional split or edit an existing one:
  • Source
  • is
  • Black Crow form name

 

 

4. Remember to add a opposite condition in the BAU flow

     - Source

   - is not

    - Black Crow form name
