How does Smart ID identify additional emails for my abandonment flows?
Smart ID empowers our brand partners to set privacy safe server-side cookies/identifiers which give you a much more effective way of identifying the visitors that are coming to your site. This allows you to recognize and communicate with your returning visitors, who have already provided their email to you previously, after their third party cookies have been wiped from Safari.
Why do I see two versions of my abandonment flows - my business-as-usual (BAU) version and a Black Crow version?
This is a best practice for setting up our flows. This allows you to quickly and clearly view the incremental revenue driven by the additional users Smart ID is helping your brand identify.
What if I want to make changes to my cart, checkout or browse abandonment flows?
Black Crow Smart ID flows will continue to stay live and drive incremental revenue alongside your business-as-usual flows. Any changes that you make to your business-as-usual flows, should be made to your Black Crow flows. Our team is happy to QA, contact your CSM or email support@blackcrow.ai.
What if I launch a brand new Cart, Checkout or Browse Abandonment flow?
Please notify support@blackcrow.ai when brand new flows have been created and the Black Crow Support team will ensure we duplicate those flows, apply the correct filters and add the Smart ID trigger.
Can I change creative on any of my flows?
Yes, you can make changes to your business-as-usual and Black Crow flows. When changes are made to your business-as-usual flows, ensure those changes are made in the Black Crow flows as well.
How do I see results in Klaviyo?
How do I see results in Attentive?
What type of reporting do I receive from Black Crow?
Expect a monthly report from Looker that includes the incremental lift driven by the Black Crow Smart ID flows.
If I switch to another provider than Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Yotpo or Sendlane will your solution still work?
Our solution to recognize users dating back to when you integrate will continue to work by associating user info with the server side cookie but, for the time being, Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Yotpo and Sendlane are the only owned (email/SMS) marketing platforms that we have pre-built integrations for passing these identifiers into.
How does Klaviyo's attribution work?
By default, the attribution window for email is 5 days (after an open or clicked email), but you can adjust this window in your account's email settings if you choose.
By default, the attribution window is 24 hours for SMS messages (after a click), but you can adjust this setting in your account's SMS settings should you choose.
How does Attentive's attribution work?
Attentive supports three types of attributed conversions:
- Click: A subscriber completed a purchase within the specified click time period. By default, this is 30 days; however, you can customize the time period.
- View: A subscriber completed a purchase within the specified view time period. By default, this is one day; however, you can customize the time period.
- Coupon: A subscriber used a unique discount code to complete a purchase outside the specified time period.
Does anything else in Black Crow Klaviyo abandonment flows need changing besides the trigger and flow filters when you set up a flow? e.g. do dynamic product blocks that show what someone viewed/added-to-cart/checked-out need to be updated too? Or the dynamic buttons, etc?
Typically, nothing else besides the trigger event and flow filters need to change when cloning an abandonment flow in Klaviyo to make a Black Crow AI Smart ID version unless you have custom variables on checkout started events that get used in your messages (which is uncommon). Please don't hesitate to reach out to your Black Crow AI CSM to assist you in setting up Smart ID abandonment flows.
Why are there sometimes fewer Black Crow events (Active on Site Black Crow, Viewed Product Black Crow, Added to Cart Black Crow, Checkout Started Black Crow) than the corresponding business-as-usual events (Active on Site, Viewed Product, Added to Cart, Checkout Started)?
The purpose of Smart ID is to improve the quality of events and to retain user information beyond the 7-day limitation. Our goal is not to match the event counts in Klaviyo/Attentive, but to strengthen the platform’s recognition of users.
We don’t have you turn off your existing abandonment flows so you will continue to get the value from your previous flows from the Klaviyo events. Different flows are triggered by our events that only send to the incremental people that we identified that Klaviyo could not. The revenue generated by these Black Crow Smart ID abandonment flows is a better measure of value than looking at event counts.
[Klaviyo] Black Crow's Checkout Started event is interfering with Shopify's Checkout Started Event
The two events fire at different portions of a user's conversion journey
Our Checkout Started Black Crow event fires upon a user clicking "Checkout" (before the checkout page) as opposed to Shopify's Checkout Started event that fires when a user clicks on "Continue to Shipping" (located in the checkout).
We do not block or interfere with Shopify's trigger.
